Thirsty Thursdays

Thank You Matt Stevens

Posted by Rob Critical

Sometime late Spring, early Summer, Whiz from HNRL sent me a link to the MAX100 project. I don’t beast of sneakers as much as I used to a few years ago, but I do love design. Should have been a no-brainer. Combine the two genres and you got yourself a for sure winner in my book.

But I’m here to talk about Matt Steven‘s book. This was the first project I backed on Kickstarter and I’m glad I did. I just got my copy of the first edition in the mail. So pumped off of this. Making sure this joint is visible, right next to Made For Skate and the Street Fighter book my broham sent me. Here are a couple of snaps of my favorites.

Copies of the book can be copped here: MAX100 Project Store

Omar’s Nike SB Release Party

Posted by Marc Critical

Last Friday night was Omar Salazar’s Nike SB release party for his new Shoe. The event was held at PLA in Folsom CA. In conjunction with this release, Spitfire was unavailing Omar’s new “Strike Anywhere” wheel and new video. Ben Lutes (owner of PLA) invited the HA crew out to partake in the festivities.

The event went great and no surprise, since Ben and Omar are class acts. We had some good laughs and talked some business. There was a small after party that followed and I’ll just say it was definitely memorable.

Big thanks to Omar Salazar, Ben Lutes (PLA), DLX, Joe Brook (Thrasher), Jeff Landi (The Skateboard Mag), Greg Hunt and Mike Richins (Nike). Please enjoy the visuals from that night. Also, keep a look out for some upcoming projects coming out of the HA and PLA camps.

This is classic Omar. Always up to something sketchy.

Omar is always so great with the kids. Our boy Ped was there with his son and Omar hooked up a new Spitfire poster for him.

A lot of amazing photographs of Omar were on display that night. Thanks to Joe Brook, Greg Hunt and Jeff Landi pictures. Their work is so inspiring.

Blake and Billy talking about upcoming Project Grey game plans.

Just as we got there, Calvin was heading out.

Omar’s new Spitfire promo was playing all night.

Billy, Russ and Mike Richins from Nike where holding it down in the back of PLA. Not sure if Bill was trying to pose as if he was making deals.

Matt Mullin was there and was putting his camera in everyones face that night.

Billy and Omar.

Eddie from FTC Sacramento came out to show support.

Richard and Will trying to convince Bill to invest in there YGRN movement.

Judd and Billy. I’m unsure on what is actually going on here but either way its Judd, so I’m backing it.

Richard was demanding I take a picture with this Justin Beiber look a like.

Russ got this shot off of me. Not too often that I’m on this end of the lens.

Typical release party aftermath.

Preston and Matt Pailes were fired up talking about Boston! It got loud so I bailed after this picture.

The Lights Stay On

Posted by Marc Critical

We finally ended the day at the Potrero skatepark. We knew that the lights stayed on until late so it was a no brainer with the sun going down so early.

First off, we had to make a pit stop at the Liquor store for some refreshments. Beer Is a great way to keep guys motivated. By this time I was having technical issues with my camera and missed a lot of good shots of the guys ripping the park. All in all, if you read the previous posts, then you got a good idea on how this day has transpired.

A fully lit up Potrero park.

I have never thought of Richard as a scary guy; he frightens me in this photo.

We were all stationed in this spot for most of the night.

Yet again, the TM is on it with a beer run for the boys.

Our last meal before we headed back to Sacramento was Colton’s local Pho spot in the Sunset district. Did you notice; only one red beanie.

Mellow Sundays Imagery

Posted by Marc Critical

Here are the start of the visuals from last Sundays quick trip to San Francisco. This first batch of us just trying to get out of Sacramento. If you didn’t already know, just getting to your destination when traveling with two car loads of skaters can be challenging. Between Starbucks, gas and pissing off the side of the road, I had enough content for the first post.

Richard is always ready.

This Shughe van could tell a million stories.

Space Junks very own Parker and the new Project Grey Cruiser.

Getting this many people ready to roll is no easy task for a TM, but Billy did a great job keeping the group moving.

Apparently there were some pissed off birds above Richard’s Van.

Big Bill with a gas station wall ride.

Space Piss…

Big Bill couldn’t help himself, the bush looked to inviting.

Billy notices this guy hanging out right where Parker was just standing. TM duties are never thanked enough.
