Music Mondays: TDK Chronicles

Posted by Rob Critical

A couple of things I’d like to mention…

- I’m late for a dinner, so I gotta keep this brief.

- Nas is forever in my Top 5 MCs. I’ll enjoy anything he releases.

- I really do miss the efforts into crafting a mixtape.

Peace everyone and I hope the New Year is treating everyone proper.

Music Mondays: The Fall

Posted by Rob Critical

Gorillaz got an album stream for their latest offering. From the website:

From Montreal to Vancouver via Seattle, Texas and Toronto, over 32 days on their North American Tour this autumn, Gorillaz recorded a musical diary. The result is a collection of 15 tracks, some with vocals, some without, some combined performances and some solo.

The 15 track sonic journal, titled The Fall, produced by Gorillaz and Stephen Sedgwick, will be available to download for free by Sub Division fan club members on Christmas Day and will also be streamed on Gorillaz.com from Christmas Day.

The music was recorded during spare time while on the road. “I did it because there’s a lot of time that you just spend staring at walls essentially. And it was a fantastic way of doing it” says Damon Albarn. “I found working in the day, whether it’s in the hotel or in the venue, it was a brilliant way of keeping myself well.” Adding that the collection is “..like a diary, I literally wrote everything on the day in each place and there’s a strange sort of sound of America and its musical traditions that comes through. It feels like a journey through America.”

Music Mondays: Erk Tha Jerk

Posted by Rob Critical

And here I go with a bonus, for this Monday. Erk the Jerk with “Ha Ha”.  C’mon, the title itself means it needs to get put on our Music Mondays. This might have to be a posse anthem for us! High five to you, Erk, for this one. On another note, bet none of you knew that I am a fan of Chopped and Screwed. So, I dig the additive touch at the end. Sorry for the spoiler if you never heard the track or seen the video.
