Skate Myths

Posted by Rob Critical

Been a few days. Nonetheless, enjoy some cool art work. Skate Myths is a series of illustrations by artist, Trevor Burks. He describes the work as “a series based on my personal mythologies surrounding growing up skateboarding in a small town”. Thought he hit the bulls-eye on that one. Measuring how long you can manual, using parking lot spaces, was always fun.

The HA Crew spent some time over at Shriners Hospital for Children, in Sacramento. Shriners Hospital is a health care provider, free of charge, to children requiring treatment for orthopaedic conditions, acute burns and spinal cord injuries. For the children at Shriners, there was a special guest appearance and performance from the Skateboard Santa.

After the performance, we got the opportunity to visit some of the patients, such as Jason and Sheridan.

Extra special thanks to Alan Anderson, Penny Lees, the Shriners staff and volunteers and, of course, the children at Shriners for making Skateboard Santa a success!
